Shin nyo do

真如堂 Shin nyo do temple is not part of most crowded tourist spots in Kyoto but worth visiting because of its atmosphere.

Ginkakuji temple and autumn leaves

Ginkakuji is a major tourist spot and as expected, lots of people and congestion within the temple and the garden. However, this does not spoil the charm of this temple at all. Seeing this temple with different color of autumn leaves is just breathtakingly awesome and amazing.

Kyoto

My wife headed for Chiba while I would still stay in Kansai for a couple of more days. To fully utilize JR pass, I sent her to Kyoto by another Sinkansen and we did a short sightseeing there before her reserved train. I actually lived there for 4 years in my university student time but it was long time ago. Just amazed to see how modern part of Kyoto has changed since then but more astonished to see how ancient part of Kyoto is still same.

Retro trains

On the way back from Kagoshima, my wife has chosen retro trains just for part of the planned mileage. I can recommend this option and must say this is the right thing to do when you have extra 4 hours.

Sakurajima volcano

We went to Sakurajima by ferry boat to stay there. As said before, Sakurajima is one of active volcanoes in Japan. Fortunately eruption for that day when we stayed there was small but the other picture shows another eruption which occurred in 1914 was a different story and killed many residents.

Heroes

Do not forget to meet and pay respect for heroes who devoted themselves to renovate this country and transform it from conventional samurai society to modern civilization.

Sakurajima

After some sightseeing in Kagoshima city, we went up a hill where our hotel, Kinkoh kogen hotel, was located. View to Sakurajima which is still an active volcano at the hotel is just breathtaking. A bonus by staying at this hotel is that this view is also available at 露天風呂 ,hotspring bathing under the sky.

To Kyushu

Leaving Hamamatsu and parents in law, we headed for Osaka where my mother's living. After a short stay there, we further went down to Kagoshima by Shinkansen super express with my mother. Amazingly first and comfortable!

Hamamatsu

Took a trip with parents in law to Hamamatsu, which is well known with Hamanako-lake and eels which are raised in that lake but they end up with being grilled and served on our tables... We enjoyed good Chinese food at the Hamana-ko royal hotel.

Skyscraper

Malmöhamn och skog

Vi vandrade i Malmö vid hamn och skog. Solen sken och det är ovanlig i höst i södra Sverige. Jättetrevlig i helgen!
