Christmas season has begun!

People were flooding to the Cathedral square to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season. It was fun but very much cold. The young guy who is a son of the apartment owning family where we stayed said the temperature sometime reaches -25 degree. Fortunately it seems not -25 degree at that evening but anyway very much cold.

Christmas is approaching!

Yes another bulky food

Ate yet another bulky food. It is quite interesting food but to be honest too much. Weisbeer is great.

Vilnius unversity

Vilnius university was established in 1579 and one of the oldest universities in eastern Europe. It is open up for non-university students or faculty to look around in accessible areas. Unfortunately, one of the main should-be-checked facility, the university book store, was closed because of the end of the semester.

Cathedral

Three crosses hill

A monument dedicated for seven Franciscan monks. A very calm and dignified monument.

St Anne's Church

The old part of Vilnius may be large and there are lots of interesting architectures. Many of them are churches or facilities inspired by Christianity.

Full but still room for a chocolate cake

We are supposed to be full but amazingly still have room for a chocolate cake. Very much interesting interior within the cafe which we dropped in.

And lots of food and drink

Zeppelins is kind of potato based dumpling and bulky but good alternative to meat. Lithuanian beer is good quality. Tried Svyturio - Ekstra which good lager. Also don't forget to try their vodka.

Very much unique tea house

Frozen city square

The square in front of the city hall was completely frozen but children did not care or rather, they liked playing on the slippery square.

Vilnius

Took one day off to make a long weekend and visited Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania. Although it was very cold, Vilnius is a lovely city with lots interesting architecture.
