Headed for Mönchsjochhütte

Further hiked on ice and snow to Mönchsjochhütte (3657m). The highest point during our tour around Switzerland this time.

Aletsch Glacier

View from Jungfraujoch is just remarkable. Here is Aletsch Glacier which is the largest one in Alps.

The Jungfraujoch railway station is the highest station in Europe (3454 meters above sea level).

We woke up early bringing a lunch box which a lady running the hotel Tschuggen had prepared for with us and went up to Jungfraujoch. Tickets of the mountain train are outstandingly expensive frankly speaking. We will see whether it deserves.

Fondue

Fondue was our choice for dinner. This fondue is tomato taste and one eat this with bread or potato. It was good but a little bit too much cheese honestly speaking.

Wengen

Wengen is another populated base to access mountains in that region. When looking at that town, it looks like hanging on the edge of the big cliff.

Down to Wengen and Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau was watching us behind. Another 7km mileage.

Kleine Scheidegg

Kleine Scheidegg is the base for a world famous mountain train way up to Jungfraujoch. We thought about going up there but decided to postpone that plan to next day because the weather was not super.

Männlichen to Kleine scheidegg

Another hiking. Took ropeway to Männlichen and then headed for Kleine Scheidegg, which is a highly popular hiking path because it is easy to hike but moreover, it is charming.

Eiger, the north face

As expected even during hiking at First, thunderstorm came and its rugged north face of Eiger became even more harsh.

After checking in the hotel, we went up to First. Not like passages we took at Matterhorn, First is easy to access because it is almost flat. But the scenery is just beautiful.
