Time to go home

Time flies and time to go home now. It is a heart-warming place with great snow, food, beer and people. Want to come back again.

Zum Fidelen Affen

Went to a restaurant recommended by a hotel front guy. The name is crazy monkey in English but the atmosphere and taste is not crazy at all. The restaurant was becoming very crowded after we had docked in and easily understood why.

Salzburg city

Walking around Salzburg city. It comes to Salzburg, one must meet Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Altstadt Hotel Restaurant Stadtkrug

We stayed Restaurant Stadtkrug. Seems like a well-known hotel and a lady at Tourist Information office immediately shown us the direction when I said Stadtkrug. Indeed it is such old (700 years old!) that dark brown dust fall down from the upper room to the surface of our beds... However, a bright side is that they changed and prepared another room right away.

Train to Salzburg

From Zell am See to Salzburg, we took two trains. The 2nd one was long distance international train and very much populated. A bit of annoying was that huge luggages were overflown and flooded everywhere on the corridors.

Youth Hostel

The place we stayed is Landesberufsschülerheim Zell am See, which is Youth Hostel in short version. Students are also living here except weekend since looks like their original homes are isolated and no schools there. Kind of odd when wake up and say Guten Morgen, everyone else than us are teenager. Although it is very simple facility here, it is quite and clean and I like it.

Walking in the morning

Early bird woke up early in the morning and since nothing to do, he walked up the skiing center at Schimitten. Looks like it will be sunny today too but we must leave to Salzburg city.

Last night at Zell am See

Because of last night at Zell am See, we wanted to eat something good at something good atmosphere. My wife ate a local meal which was quite similar to Swedish Pitte Panna.

Schnitzel at Schimitten

Bubble of beer is quite sweet and beautiful. My wife said she was satisfied with schinitzel.

Schimitten again

Back to Schimitten. The slope over there you probably see is Kitzstenhorn which we just came from.

Are you serious?

What the heck is this guy doing there? Never seen grilling sausages in the car in my life time and cannot believe. At Kitzsteinhorn parking place.

Awesome view at the top of Kitzstenhorn

It was a awesome view at the top of Kitzsteinhorn, feeling like flying.

Sunny Kitzsteinhorn

It was pretty much sunny in Zell am See and we went up to Kitzsteinhorn again by bus. Not many skiers were seen yet at the top of the mountain.

Hungry bears again

Hungry bears went to a very casual local restaurant and ate Austrian meals again with Stiegl which is one of the most common Salzburg beer. Then we went to a cafe where the bears took further more calories.

Late lunch at Schimitten

Back to Schimitten mountain near our YH by bus. Had a little late lunch.

But she is sometimes more serious

But she is not always making fun of it. Sometimes she helps other people like this guy who lost one of his ski boards on a sharp slope. A touching scene, isn't it?

Different ways of enjoying snow

Seems different ways of being delighted on snow. Some looks more serious and other is more relaxed and looks like pretty much happy to ride on an alpaka...

Kitzsteinhorn 1st day

Woke up, waxed ski boards of my own and my wife and ate breakfast at Youth Hostel. Took bus to Kitzsteinhorn. Weather was not bad and we could see the sun in the afternoon. Snow conditions was good especially at higher part of the glacier.

Zell am See

Zell am See is more populated than Fulpmes and more international. We heard only German in Felpmes but we can hear British English, Russian, French and more languages here.

Moving to Zell am See

Moving to the next destination, Zell am See in Salzburg state by ÖBB (national train).

Short visit in Innsbruck

While witting for train to the next destination, Zell am See, we did some sightseeing in Innsbruck. A beautiful city surrounded by Tyrol Alpes. An only problem was ski boards. There are only 4 coin lockers you can keep your ski boards at the station and they were all sold out. We had to carry them during sightseeing. Sweet.

Good by Fulpmes

Good by Fulpmes and took train down to Innsbruck. Train took a detour in one hour journey but it was quite scenic and absolutely worth taking a way around.

Fulpmes and Damelerhof

Fulpmes is a small village but breathtakingly beautiful. Damelerhof is a lovely B&B and people are all kind, warm and informative there. Wanted to stay more but we must move.
