Last evening meal at Slovakia

The last Slovakian meal this time. I ordered Halusky with sausages on top and my wife had another local meal with sausages and sauerkraut. This restaurant is a pizza restaurant but those non Italian local meals are also good.

At B&B balcony

This B&B we stayed for three night at Vysokè Tatry is Penzion Vesna. We were given spacious two rooms with a large & great viewing balcony. Breakfast was also very nice. Before eating out, we spent some nice evening time at the balcony with Slovakian wine and Czech beer.

Down to Stary Smokovec

The firth leg of hiking, down to Hreebienok and then the mileage continued to Stary Smokovec. We were once lost in the forest and I was bruised by scratching when faking downhill skiing on an icy slope without boots and boards but it was ok. We managed to come back to the town. Endonmondo on my Android phone was showing 21.36km for total mileage.

Lunch break

Lunch break at a restaurant beside the rope-way station. It's not gorgeous meal but I was quite satisfied with another Slovakian beer and (maybe) Kendla.

Continues to a mountain lake

The third leg of hiking from Zamkovskèho chata to Skalnatè Plesco (1751m. above sea level). Some places were still icy but not much tricky if careful enough. Locals passing by are nice and very friendly.

Hiking today

Hiking in Vysokè Tatry. The first leg was from Stary Smokovec to Hrebienok and these pictures were taken in the second leg, from Hrebienok to Zamkovskèho chata. Another nice weather and we were feeling warm.

Popradskè Pleso, well on the way to that place

We were intended to extend our mileage further up to Popradskè Pleso; however we gave up because locals said it's icy on the way to the lake and it's already late in the afternoon. Among other reasons, we felt starving.

Strbskè Pleso

After coming back from Belianska Jaskyna, we headed for Strbskè Pleso by taking tram. Beautiful overview to Vysokè Tatry from a different angle.

Belianska Jaskyna

Although it is hardly known, my partner is a cave lover. She insisted in visiting caves when we were planning trip to Slovakia. Many caves are still closed because April is still kind of winter season up in mountainous places; however a cave called Belianska Jaskyna is already open and looks like one of the spectacular caves in Slovakia. So we decided to go there. Many thanks for a lady at Vysokè Tatry tourist office who gave us many useful hints and checked bus schedule for us.

Beer & Meat

After checking in a local B&B, we went out for eating and drinking and got seated at a local Italian restaurant, just following a recommendation by the B&B owner. This place also serves non Italian cuisine and quality is quite fine. Slovakian pilsner is also not bad at all.

Overview to Vysokè Tatry

After 4 hours 40 minutes train ride, we have now arrived at Poprad Tatry which is an entry to Vysokè Tatry.

Central train station

Bratislava central train station. We took a regional train to cross half of this country, heading for Vysoké Tatry (High Tatras) which was our destination of this trip.

Church of St. Elisabeth

Church of St. Elizabeth, a.k.a. Blue Church. It is kind of overlooked by travelers but worth checking.

Man at work

Man at work or manhole guy. He is watching something with half of his body in manhole.

Bratislava Castle

A symbolic castle for this capital city which is placed on a hill. No doubt about very peaceful place.

The hotel we stayed for one night is called Michalská Brána which is situated in the middle of Bratislava old town. It is nice and comfortable place as other travelers commented in Booking.com.

Trip to Slovakia

By taking one personal holiday, it became 4 consecutive day-off. We went to Slovakia which I had long time wanted to visit. Arrived at Bratislava almost 10.00 p.m. after regular working at office. By the way, this time Skånetrafiken's s*cks and they cancelled all late afternoon traffic from/to Copenhagen by some reason, which put us to a situation that expensive taxi trip is only option.

With friends at their colony

At the same day when cycling to Knivsåsen, a couple of friends kindly invited to their colony. It was not so cold at early evening hours but soon started getting a little chilly. This friend, husband, told us his colony improvement plan and according to this, he will build a "露天風呂" which is a bath under the sky. I thought that having beer in the bath would be even nicer. It was a very nice spring time and thank you for invitation.

Knivsåsen

Cycling to and back from Kivsåsen. It was long ride (about 35km for round trip) but we could touch nice early spring atmosphere.

View from Vor Frelsers Kirke

After Carlsberg and its neighboring streets and park, we took subway and went to Vor Frelsers Kirke to go high up to the top of the tower. I finally understood the orientation of this rather complex city by getting sort of bird view.

Carlsberg visitor center

Day2 for Öresund Rundt tour. Undoubtedly we have chosen to go to Copenhagen to see some unfamiliar places. Carlsberg visitor center presents you interesting architectures, their beer making history, production process of beer, a great collection of beer bottles and 2 small glasses of beer out of several their labels in the end, which is nice and I can recommend.

A Påsk holiday

We bought Öresund Rundt tickets (Öredund region public transportation pass, valid for consecutive 2 days) maybe the first time in 5 to 6 years and went to Båstad. Still a little chilly at beach but weather was so fine and the famous flag was blended to the sky.
