Murphys Bar

Murphys bar is a really great pub which has nice and cozy atmosphere, fine tasted meal, wonderful  music and Irish stout. A memorable night.

Rent-a-bike

Came back to the down town in Killarney and returned the bikes. By the way, we are quite satisfied with the quality of the bikes because I see our bikes are well maintained.

Amazing view

View from the top of the mountain is just amazing and breathtaking. Absolutely worth trying.

Torc Mountain

Since we saw some hikers heading for the top of the mountain, we have just followed them being deviated from the main road of Kerry Way. It requires quite some effort to reach the top of the mountain, Torc Mountain 535m above the sea level and besides that, weather is not stable and sometime starts to rain.

Troc Waterfall

Torc Waterfall is a nice place to check but we see it is too short mileage for hiking. Thus, we have decided to go further up through Kerry Way following tips by a guy running the rental bike shop.

Muckross House

We have used rental bikes to go to Muckross House and then Torc Waterfall for hiking because the mileage to Muckross House looks like boring and not short. Muckross House is one of the major tourist attractions in Killarney and we have also found a beautiful place but skipped to enter the facility because of taking too much time before hiking.

Ross Castle

We have moved to Killarney which is our last destination of this journey. After dinner, we intended a little walk but it ended up with a fairly long walk while searching the Ross Castle. The Ross Castle in evening sunlight is quite picturesque and we think that it is worth walking though.

Many myths

There are probably many myths in this garden. However it is quite unknown what the heck myth this man believes in...

Nice garden walking

The garden is huge with lots of interests, flowers, poison garden, horses, ponds, architecture and etc. So we naturally walked around as far as time to catch a bus back Cork and then another bus to Killarney allowed us to do so.

The Blarney Stone

It is believed that one who kisses the Blarney Stone never misses to grow eloquent. My wife and I have kissed and we will see how it works.

Blarney castle

Before leaving for the next destination, Killarney, we visited Blarney castle. It boasts of the beautiful garden and the Blarney stone.

Late evening walk

Went out alone for hunting another pint but ended up a nice late evening walk.Have found this city is beautiful also in the late evening. Surprisingly I met a Canadian guy again who we had met when finding a place to eat earlier. My wife showed kindness and offered help to him when he was in a little trouble with sticky icecream on the road. He in return taught us where to find the eating place.

Beamish

Have chosen Beamish stout this evening. A proud Cork product and it is owned by Heineken now.

Have seen lots of nicely decorated advertisement in this area. The up most one is the pub where we had coffee and scorns in Cobh. The middle is obviously a butcher shop and we saw that when back from the city jail. The bottom one is the place we stayed and its ground floor is pub.

Cork Gaol

Means City Jail. We visited another city jail in Dublin and frankly speaking, I was not so impressed this time as I had been in Dublin. Unlike Dublin Gaol, tour of this jail is self-guided one with a classic Walkman cassette tape provided. I prefer to the Dublin Gaol tour where a human guide tells interesting stories. This city jail may be an interesting point for people who have not visited a similar facility before though, I think.

Cobn

Followed by tips by Danny who is the running Creedon's B&B we stayed, we visited a port town called Cobn. They sort of boast of being the last calling point of the tragic Titanic voyager and we have found several monuments on that. By the way, you should pronounce something like "Cobe" for Cobn, then it should work. P.s. I recommend Creedon's B&B. If interest, find that place in Tripadvisor where you can also see my contributed recommendation.

Green post

Everything must be green in this country, maybe.

English Market

Cork is well know as a very active city with lots of tourist attractions. English Market is one of them. We feel unique taste/character with each shop, which I presume can attract people.

Good bye Scotland, hello Ireland

Have left Scotland heading for Cork, then we will go directly to a nice pub in Cork, at least that was an original plan. However, our flight was delayed by 4 hours by a technical problem of our aircraft saying a fuel gauge problem. However, a good part of that delay is a beautiful sunset over Ireland on the flight.

Beautiful distillery

As the reputation states, this distillery is blended well in beautiful landscape.

Distillery tour

Distillery tour is quite interesting but please do not ask me why they claim that Glengoyne is believed to be different from other brands. My memory on this is gone after 2 shots plus another extra at their gift shop.

Glengoyne distillery

The last day in Scotland. We have decided to visit a Scotch whiskey distillery which has been missed so far. Checking a tourist site, there are two distilleries near Glasgow and I have chosen one of them, Glengoyne, because people appreciate this distillery saying it is located in quite beautiful place. We have joined a tour with a shot served per each when beginning. My wife does not drink strong alcohol, which means naturally mine are two shots.
