Met Saglada Familia again

We went to Saglada Familia again to see it in light-up at night.

Barceloneta beach

It is still in summer at the Barceloneta beach. I should have brought a swim suit and lied down on the beach to see girls in bikini.

Late lunch at Barceloneta

Two hungry dogs ate late lunch at a restaurant in the Barceloneta district. Grilled fishes, pulpo (octopus) and fried shrimps which were supposed to be fried small fishes according to the menu. Does not matter because it is good anyway.

Gigantic cat

If you depart from the Liceu station on La Rambla and walk to west, it is there in the Raval district.

Casa Amatller

Next to Casa Batllo, you can see Casa Amatller which was designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Quiet compared to crowded Casa Batllo but still lovely house.

Gaudi says good-bye to you at Casa Batllo

Casa Batlló

Another apartment designed by Gaudi. The shape of the windows, balconies, facade are all unique but among others the roof is interesting and kind of icecreamish. He also intricately calculated all these designs and an amazing thing is comfortability for residents was always in his mind. If you see the size of the windows inside the apartment, they slightly differ (smaller at the top and larger at the bottom) in order to take the same amount of natural sunlight on all different floors.

Casa Vicens

More Modernismo architectures we want to check before leaving. Have found one designed by Gaudi within 5 minutes from our hotel. The business of the house owner was tiles as obviously if you look at the facade.

Food at a bar

Went back to the place we stayed and browsed to find food. Since a guy at a local bar seems like to be able to speak English, we went in. The food is various and great. Besides, I would like the system where you can always know how much you must pay by counting the number of sticks you have left. Finally we are full.

And way back

We thought the tickets we had bought were valid for back down from the mountains by the same Cremallera but a lady at the Cremallera station insisted they were to be used by funicular, and actually she is right. However, strange enough because I am sure that the ticket vending machine we used to buy round-trip apparently showed us options and we chose both ways by Cremallera... Anyway does not matter as far as we can take a ride.

Hike in mountains

Hiked in mountains behind the Montserrat. You can go up there by cable car and need to take some walk probably for 30 min to a few hours depending on the course you choose. Our tour took about 90 minutes.
